Moments of comfort is a project born out of my continuing sense of dissatisfaction and unease at the current state of the world. Influenced by existentialist philosophy and psychology.
The title of the project refers to psychologist Viktor Frankl’s book ‘Man’s search for Meaning’ in which Frankl observes that we can find moments of comfort in nature, in memory and in those that we love.
My images draw directly from those sources and act as a salve to the discomfort I feel at the absurdity of life. The ambiguous nature of the images reflect how my feelings about current affairs have infiltrated the moments of comfort that once offered me security and grounding.
